Trending Latte Makeup Tutorial

According to TikTok and Instagram, “Latte makeup” is the trend of the year. It’s bronzed, glowy, and sophisticated and can be customized for all ages and skin tones. Essentially, latte makeup involves layering shades of brown, from taupe through to espresso depending on your skin tone, over eyes, cheeks, and lips. According to our pro makeup artist team, the trick to making it work for you is to use your skin tone as a base from which to build your shades. Look for tones one, two, or three shades darker than your natural coloring.

How to do the Latte Makeup Look

1. Latte Skin

Latte makeup looks most effortless when layered onto perfected but minimalist skin. Use a hydrating primer such as Pure Canvas Primer Hydrating to give skin a plump finish, before applying a light layer of Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector SPF30 to even out tone. For areas that require additional coverage, apply Real Flawless Weight Perfecting Concealer. The hydrating formula feels weightless on skin but delivers just the right amount of coverage for naturally blurred effect.

2. Latte Eyes

A creamy eyeshadow stick, such as Caviar Stick Eyeshadow Matte, makes Latte Eyes as simple as sketch and blend. Choose a shade one or two grades darker than your skin tone and sketch the color over your entire eyelid. Try Caramel for light to medium skin tones, and Café Noir, or Dark Cacao for medium to deep skin tones.

Take the Eyeshadow into your crease to create some darker definition. Use a tapered eyeshadow bush like Finishing Pony Tail Brush to buff the color upwards and outwards towards the outer edge of your brow. Lastly, run a rich, dark brown pencil such as Caviar Tightline Eyeliner in Espresso Brown along your upper and lower lash lines to intensify the color.

3. Latte Bronze

Warm up cheeks with Tinted Moisturizer Bronzer tapped along the tops of your cheekbones and upwards towards your temple. The liquid pigment will create a uniform latte look, while dialing up glow.

4. Latte Lips

The signature latte lip has a darker lip line paired with a lighter gloss. Laura believes in customizing trends to suit the wearer, rather than conforming to a uniform look. It’s how you get a look to work for you, and not the other way around. If you’re feeling bold, line just outside the natural perimeter of your lips with a lip liner such as Longwear Lip Liner, and then soften the line with a cotton swab. Apply a slick of Lip Glacé in 35 Crème Brulee or 85 Praline.
